I love you Beary much

Although its not my week to participate in the Squigglefly challenge I thought I'd share a Squigglefly card anyway. I couldn't remember what the challenge was this week when I made this so I just found a cute image and went with it. For those of you who do want to join in on the Squigglefly challenge today the challenge is to make a gate-fold card. Just head on over to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog to see what Kim's group came up with this week. Before I forget I thought I'd mention that my dh made me a light box yesterday. I went to an all day card making class and while I was gone he was taking care of the girls and shopping at Joann's for materials. What a sweetie. So how do you think he did?

Thanks-Giving

This week Rhonda's group of the Squigglefly team was asked to step up to a Thanksgiving challenge. The challenge was to make a Thanksgiving project and to use a Squigglefly sentiment. For the main image I used one of the new Shy Bears. This one is called Pilgrim Bear. I used the Thanks be God for His inexpressible gift for my sentiment. I just cropped the word Thanks and was good to go. I have to say that I really enjoy coloring the Shy Bear images. They are so cute and are super easy to color. Be sure to take a gander at the Squigglefly Challenge Blog cards for more Thanksgiving ideas.

Also be sure to check out i {heart} papers blog today to get all the scoop on this week's birthday bash. Great challenges and prizes to be won.

Birthday Fun

Rhonda challenged her Squigglefly group with a color challenge. We had to use pink and blue. The pink part was easy especially with the new IC Melon Mambo. Bright and oh so pink. I used one of the newly released shy bear images. Isn't he a cutie? What's even better is that the little bear is a breeze to color due to the way the image was drawn. Make sure you check out the Squigglefly blog to see what the other DT members came up with for this week's sketch. The sentiments came from The Cutting Cafe. The birthday was a portion of one of the sentiments in the Happy Birthday 40 Different Ways set and the Fun was cut out of the Halloween Long Border set.

Squigglefly Challenge

It's time for another Squigglefly Challenge. This week's rules were simple. Use a Squigglefly image, the colors red and green and two stars. I thought of this fun little image right away. I added a little more stars than needed but since they are so small and not the focal point of the card I didn't think anyone would mind. I kept this one simple since it is more of a boy type card so I didn't add anything to the bottom of it. I also added blue to the mix but its rare that I have an image that I can pair up with Brilliant Blue. I thought it would be a nice change from my usual pink cards. Don't forget to check out the Squigglefly Challenge Blog to see what everyone else came up with.

Make sure you scroll down to my last post to have a chance to win a free stamp set. I know you'll love it as much as I do.

Meow

This week's Squigglefly members on Kim's team were challenged to make a shaped card. It seems like I've been making lots of shaped cards so even though I wasn't required I decided at the very last minute join in. Since I had to make it quick (before the sun went completely down) I used my Star Shaped Card Template from The Cutting Cafe. The images are from Squigglefly and are called Meow and Kuruku Loo. I believe both stamps are less than $1 each and since they are digital you can re-size them to your needs. Can you hear me saying Go digi go?

Number 1

This week Rhonda's team at Squigglefly was challenged to make a project using circles- the more the merrier. I chose my Squigglefly digi image called Number One and to add a few more circles combined it with the soccer ball image. Rather than layering the designer paper as always I decided to randomly place more circles behind the image. All in all there are 13 circles total. I hope that number doesn't jinx the game *LOL* Check out the Squigglefly blog to see what the other DT members have created. I know there a couple of circle shaped cards.

Thanks Teacher

School will be starting soon (for us its August 20th) so its time to bring out the school themed cards. The little girl image is from Squigglefly and is called TinyTina off to school. I just think it is adorable. Also see that cute little background stamp with abc and thanks teacher? Well that is from none other than Regina at The Cutting Cafe. Its called Thanks Teacher, ABC 123 background and it can be all yours for a little over $1. I just love it and know that I'll be using it again and again.

Who loves ya baby!

This week Rhonda's group from the Squigglefly team was asked to make a card using fall colors. Being Ms. last minute as usual, I realized that I really didn't have any Squigglefly fall images so I improvised. The colors are there. Yellow, brown, green and rust. Of course after I finished the card I stumbled upon an image that could have worked. Oh well, that's just how it goes. Be sure to check out the Squigglefly blog to see what the other DT members came up with this week.

Squigglefly's Challenge

This week we were asked to create a card that has one square, 1 circle, glitter and ribbon of our choice. I decided to add glitter only in the flower centers for a little dazzling effect. The flower vase image that I used is available at Squigglefly for 99 Cents. Now that is a price I am very comfortable with. The thank you sentiment is a computer generated one that I sized to fit SU's large oval punch. You can't tell by the picture but the flower vase was actually lightly outlined to make the image pop but unfortunately you have to see the card IRL to get the effect. You can see what the other DT members have done for this challenge by using the links on the sidebar or by simply going here.

Stamps: Squigglefly - Flower Vase
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, White, My Minds Eye DP
Accessories: Copics, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 5/8 inch Rose Red Ribbon, Dimensionals, Misc. Button, SU Copper Cord, SU Oval and Scalloped Oval Punch

DIGITAL TIP: Remember that you are not restricted to a particular image or sentiment size. In order to save time and paper determine what size image will work best for your project. Then re-size the image to best fit your needs. If you are planning to cut out any portion(s) of the image simply print out and additional image or two and it will be the exact size of the original image. Then cut to your heart's content.

Squigglefly Blog Hop -Day 2

It's Day 2 of Squigglefly's Blog Hop. If you came here from Sara's blog then you are on the right track. If not head on over to Amanda's blog to start at the beginning. Make sure you leave a comment on all the DT members blogs and Squigglefly's blog for a chance to win 3 Squigglefly images. Some DT members are also offering blog candy. And if you haven't heard about Squigglefly's REWARDS program and donation to ASPCA (organization seeking to prevent animal cruelty) be sure to check out the details while you are there.

My blog hop card features one of my favorite new images and is called Beach Baby. After making an ATC with it I was 'inspired' to make a larger version. This time I pulled out my Basic Grey papers and tried to make something not too pink or girly. To continue on with the hop head on over to Sue's blog.

Lastly, take a look below for my Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday Challenge and the beginning of S2G Christmas in July.

Squigglefly Challenge- ATC

This week's Squigglefly challenge was to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card). I used the image Beach Baby. For those of you who do not know ATC cards are generally 2.5 X 3.5 inches. Not much room to embellish so I struggled a bit. I did figure out a way to add ribbon and some pearls though.

Then add the link to your project on Mr. Linky on the DTC Blog. You don't have to have a blog to participate, just add the link to your card in an online gallery like SCS or PCP. Friends are Flowers- Squigglefly Challenge

It's time for another Squigglefly challenge. This time we were asked to make a project using the "out of the box" technique. The idea is to have part of the image extending beyond the box or shape of the image. My card uses this technique but is very subtle. The idea for my out of the box is anything "outside" the rectangle of the window which includes a small portion of the flowers and the flower pot. I really wanted to use my new image from Squigglefly so this is what I ended up with. The image is called Pretty Window Box and the sentiment is Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life. I think they pair up nicely.

Squigglefly Challenge #5

Squigglefly's DT was given a color combination challenge this week. We were asked to use Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette. Wow what a tough combination. I would have never thought to put these colors together. Since I chose a boy image I didn't want the pink to be too obvious but its there. I also used a different card fold today. The image flips up and the bottom panel flips down. I thought it was time to mix it up a bit. I chose not to paper piece his clothes only because I had a full day planned and really didn't have much time for stamping today. This card luckily came together quite easily.

Paper: Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, White, Basic Grey

Enjoy your special day

This week's Squigglefly Design Team Challenge is a color challenge. We were asked to use Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Brocade Blue. Since I didn't have any Brocade Blue on hand I improvised and used Demi Design's digital papers for my designer paper. All three designer paper designs are digital. The Enjoy your special day sentiment is from my new printable Father's Day set from The Cutting Cafe. So if you haven't started your Father's Day project yet head on over to the Cafe and take a gander.

Welcome Baby

I don't make baby cards that often and when I do boy do I struggle. I think making masculine cards is easier. I never thought I'd say that. Anyway I used my new baby set from Squigglefly. There are several images to choose from in the set and since they are digital you can pretty much do just about anything. Don't forget to check out Squigglefly's every day in May. A new image will be released each day. How exciting is that?

The Pounce

Here's a Squigglefly card using my latest digital image called The Pounce. I really wanted to make him a Calico cat but didn't think I could pull it off. I still have a long way to go when it comes to coloring. Since the image was digital I was able to determine the size I wanted which is a great, great thing. Also for the month of May, Squigglefly will be releasing a new image each day. If you pre-order before May 1, you can get all 31 images for $30. Wow that's a lot of crafting. Just head on over and click on the One a Day in May banner. And if you aren't sure about going digital yet they do offer a cute hummingbird image for free.
