Style Challenge

Click HERE for the Fred She Said Blog Hop

This time at Some Odd Girl the Style Challenge is to create a project with a punny sentiment. My sentiment isn't very punny I know. Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't. Anyway, the other Odd Girls came up with lots of pun so be sure to check them out. I thought I'd also mention that this is my last post for Some Odd Girl. It's hard to believe that my term has ended (*sniff:sniff*) but it certainly won't be my last project with their wonderful images. Speaking of images my project is featuring Baker Kaylee. She's newly released and super cute.

It's a Blog Hop!

How about some mid-summer fun with a Blog Hop? The Fred She Said girls have been busy creating and have some lovely eye candy for you ! Please leave them some love on their blogs. If you have come here from Sonya's blog then you are on the right track. If not head on over to FSS to begin your journey.

At each stop on your way, there will be a special word... collect them up and there will be instructions at the end of your journey on how to enter.

The winning entry will receive $20 GC for the Fred She Said Store AND.... (AND!) ... a $20 USD Gift Certificate for CropStop so you can get that punch, or dies, inks, or embellishments you have been having you eye on. We will receive entries until Thursday August 5th Midnight EDT.

For my project I used the Peony in a jar image. I was already pre-colored and ready to go.

My special word is WITH.

Now head on over to Tracey's blog to end your journey.

Here is the order of Blog Hop participants in case you lose your way.

You take the cake

This week's Digital Tuesday Challenge is to create a birthday card. The most needed card and the one usually in short supply *LOL*.

Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles if you haven't seen any of their images you must go have a look you will not be disappointed that's for sure. The winner will receive four free digi images. I've been definitely struggling with taking decent photos lately. I blame all the rain we've had here in Iowa. Luckily I took this photo a couple of week's ago. I added a small birthday sentiment from The Cutting Cafe as an overlay in Photoshop after the photo was taken. Pretty sneaky, huh? The sentiment is one of many from the Birthday Greetings set. The Little Alice image can be purchased from Bella Digi Studio and comes pre-colored.

Oh Girl!

This week's Bella Digi Studio challenge is called Oh, Girl! We are asking you to use any girl or fairy image from Bella Digi Studio. Yep its just that simple. I used Wish Pickle for my image along with one of the Gimme a Hug sentiments. Be sure to head on over to Bella Digi Studio for the challenge and a little inspiration along the way.

Let's Dance

Time for another fun Some Odd Girl Challenge. I'm a little bit late but there is still time for you to join in on all the fun. For Stash Challenge #5, I want to see..... SPOTS, STRIPES, and a BIG TITLE! (A great excuse to bust out those Thickers, folks!) For my big title I pulled out the stamps and got all inked up. A rare moment. I used Dancin' Kaylee for my card this week, she is one of the new releases. Be sure to head on over to the Challenge Blog for more inspiration from the DT. I wasn't able to capture it in a photo but I added a fun little feature to the card. I made her "spin"/dance by adding some well placed dimensionals and a window punch for the turn table behind the ribbon. It actually works too.

This much! and a freebie

Last week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge was a sketch challenge with a Xmas twist. Let's just say that I forgot the twist part and ended up with a very berry card instead using June Pixie as the image. She is adorable. I printed her twice and cut out her hat so I could pop it up with dimensionals. I'm not sure what I'd do without them. If you haven't heard there is a DT call going on right now. Click HERE for all the deets and for a cute digital freebie from Pixie Dust Studio.

Feeling Sketchy?

This week's Digital Tuesday Challenge sponsor is Bella Design Studio who is offering 3 digi images of the winners choice. The challenge this week is to use the sketch below. I made a two page 12 X 12 scrapbook layout but with all the rain and my inability to photograph scrapbook layouts lately I am showing you a sneak peek which highlights the sketch portion of the project. I used the adorable Little Wings - Flit and Pickle image and one of the sentiments from the Gimme a Hug set, both from Bella Design Studio. I'll schedule a new post when I am successful.

Here is the sketch:

Be sure to stop over at the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog for some inspiration and head on over to the Bella Digi Studio for some adorable digital images. You'll be happy you stopped by.

Girl Friends

This week's Bella Digi Studio challenge is to use "distressing" on your project. Rather than getting all inked up I decided to use my paper distresser and to distress or "rough up" the edges of the image. The image is called Best Friends. It's one of the newly released images from Bella Digi Studio. And speaking of images you can get a free image for a limited time HERE!

Head on over to the Bella Digi Studio to see the newly released images. I know I've been having lots of fun playing with them and I am sure that you will too. There is also a pre-colored version of the Best Friends image as well.

Welcome Baby

I don't make baby cards that often but I have a lot of fun with them when I do especially when they can be all pink. I ended up buying a cute little digi set from Whimsy Stamps. The designer is Raindrop Echo Designs and the set is called Bundle of Joy sentiments. The baby sentiment is from the All about babies set from The Cutting Cafe. It's packed with tons of printable stamps. I need to play around with that set some more. Maybe I'll go all blue next time around.

Monochromatic Challenge

I have to admit that I'm not the first one in line when it comes to Monochromatic (or one color) challenges but I really enjoyed this one. I really wish the bright yellows were better seen in the picture because it really is a lovely card IRL. Anyway I hope you head on over to the Town Scrapper Challenge Blog to see what the DT has come up with. You can contact Phebe by email at info@townscrapper.com or by phone at 519-882-0623. You'll find a variety of stamps and many other necessitities.

And due to an oversight I never posted my last challenge card for the Town Scrapper. So I'll share it with you today as well. I find it interesting that it is also a monochromatic card.

Sketch Wednesday

It's my turn to post a sketch for Bella Digi Studio. In an effort to use some of what seems to be a never ending supply of scraps I've created a sketch that encourages you to dig deep into that pile and to mix and match those coveted papers. For my project I used the Little Cheeky image and the this much sentiment from the Gimme a Hug sentiment set. If you are not familiar with Sketch Wednesday just head on over to eh Bella Digi Studio Challenge Blog and you'll find a new sketch posted each week. Head on over for the daily post. You'll be glad you did.

Here's the sketch:

I hope you enjoy this week's sketch. It's my first sketch design. If you do end up making a project with it I'd love to see it so feel free to comment on this or any post on my blog and I'll be sure to stop on over for a visit.

Super Hero

It's time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge! This week we are asking you to bring out the Red, White and Blue. You can make anything - card, altered item, scrapbook page, etc. as long as it is Red, White & Blue. And don't forget to use a digi somewhere on your creation. This week's sponsor is My Grafico and they are offering one of their many amazing sets AND 30% off an order to one lucky winner.

For my project I used the Superhero designed by Zenware Designs and can be purchased at My Grafico. Its super hero cute! I also used the star shaped card template from The Cutting Cafe. Don't forget to head on over to the Challenge blog for DT inspiration and Mr. Linky- if he'll show.

Bella Digi Studio Challenge

Today's Bella Digi Studio Challenge is to use chalk. For me that is a real challenge since I simply don't use chalks. I had the intention of stopping by the LSS to grab a few but wasn't able to before the challenge. Instead I created a ultra simple card and colored it minimally with my Copics and outlined the image with sidewalk chalk. So believe me the chalk is there. Not my greatest creation I know.
