Twisted Thursday Challenge S2GSC12

Time for another Shirleys 2 girls Sketch Challenge (see sketch below). This weeks twist is to use monochromatic colors. If you've never made a monochromatic card I'd start with picking your comfort color and going with that. The contest ends on Sunday, May 31st at midnight. You can find all the deets here as well as Mr. Linky so lets see what you've got. For my card I used the digital image called On the Road DG14. The shape of the image was perfect for the sketch. I knew I wanted to start with pink but didn't have any coordinating pink paper so I printed out some digital paper from Digichick and went with that. The set is called What goes around by Aheimann. I'm not sure if its available anymore I downloaded it more than a year ago. I kept pretty true to the sketch and went on the simpler side. I still think it needs more I just couldn't find what I was looking for. To give the catepillar a little character I printed it out on matching designer paper and used dimensionals to help him become the focal point of the card. Now its your turn.

Stamps: Shirleys 2 Girls - On the road DG14
Paper: Pretty in Pink, White, Digichicks -What goes around
Accessories: 5/8 inch Rose Ribbon, Misc. Ribbon by the Yard, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

Dustin Pike- Fisherman

I bought this Dustin Pike image a week or so ago and thought I should justify my spending by actually using it. I have so many stamps (the digital images are multipying like crazy) that I have been trying to buy less because I fear that I'll never have enough time to get to them all. This image was part of a bundle of stamps 10 for $10 so how could I resist? Of course there are more bundles and more individual stamps. The DT members must be going wild with all the images he comes out with. I can only imagine. This is where digi meets rubber. I paired the Fisherman digi image with SU's And Many More set which I used as a background to give the image more of a focal point. I do use rubber stamps on occassions *LOL* This time it was because it started off in my SU card class but I chose to make something entirely different with the supplies than intended.

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge -SC111

For some reason I convinced myself to complete today's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I really wish I would have looked to see what the sketch was BEFORE I made the decision to do it. This one was tough for me but I stuck with it. I used 3 different digital stamps from InStyle Stamps and the sentiment from Stampin Up called Great Friend. Next time I'll look first *LOL*

Paper: So Saffron, Garden Green, White, My Mind's Eye DP
Ink: Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Black

Digital Tuesday Challenge

Today's card was made for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge. This weeks card was a wedding theme. I wasn't able to take a decent picture of the card I made for the challenge with all the rain here so I made a last minute substitution and added one that I made sometime ago but never posted. To make it I downloaded a free printable card kit from Fred, She Said. The kit included two pre-colored flower images and 2 designer papers. I just added ribbon and an embellishment and poof! Done. The picture really doesn't do the paper justice. Its actually rich in color IRL.

The same rules apply this week: you may create anything you want, but you have to use at least one digital stamp on your project. (No company restriction!) This week Dustin Pike will be giving away 3 images of choice to one lucky winner. To have a chance at winning post a comment with a link to your card on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog. Happy Creating.

Enjoy your special day

This week's Squigglefly Design Team Challenge is a color challenge. We were asked to use Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Brocade Blue. Since I didn't have any Brocade Blue on hand I improvised and used Demi Design's digital papers for my designer paper. All three designer paper designs are digital. The Enjoy your special day sentiment is from my new printable Father's Day set from The Cutting Cafe. So if you haven't started your Father's Day project yet head on over to the Cafe and take a gander.

Happy Birthday

Here's a birthday card I made using my new set called Aqualicious Delights by Funky Fairy Papercrafts. The set contains 18 digital papers, 39 patterned shapes/frames that can be cut out and 6 coordinating alpha betties. The whole kit is bright and cheery. I can't wait to try out some of the floral paper. It would be perfect for my Hula Sophia. The main image is from InStyle Stamps. They now sell Anime stamps as well as Retro stamps.

Twisted Thursday Challenge - S2GSC11

Time for another Shirleys 2 girls Sketch Challenge (see sketch below). This weeks twist is to make a 4 X 4 card. The contest ends on Sunday, May 24th at midnight. You can find all the deets here as well as Mr. Linky so lets see what you've got. For my card I used the digital image called Enjoy the View DG12 and framed it in a metallic circle. The can lid embellishment is something that I purchased ages ago and I have no idea who made it or where I got it from. This is the first time I've actually used one. I tend to keep things around just in case.

Copic Creation Challenge

One of my stamping goals is to complete more challenges. There are lots of challenge sites out there and I have been slowly adding them to my sidebar for motivation. I thought I'd start out with the Copic Creations challenge so I can practice my coloring at the same time. They have great DT projects as well as coloring tutorials so its a win win situation. I used my new C.C. Designs (Beachies) digital set as my main image. The theme of the challenge was to color hair blonde. Since I have a small Copic collection I improvised with the two markers that I have on hand -Y15 and Y21. Far from perfect but I'll get there eventually.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #7

This week's digital challenge is to incorporate a Tag into your design. Rather than add a tag I decided to make a tag shaped card. Since Fred, She Said is this weeks sponsor it was very fitting to use this adorable image called Emma and the Butterfly. In addition to paper piecing the dress I wanted to give it a flowy look so I added a dimensional behind a portion of it. That way it looks more like it is blowing in the breeze. So are you ready to win some fabulous images from Fred, She Said? All you need to do is to make a card with a digital image (no company restrictions) that incorporates a tag in some way and post the link to the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog. The winner will be selected by random. Good Luck!!

Stamps: Fred, She Said- Emma and the Butterfly
Paper: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, White, My Minds Eye DP

Oh so sweet

Have you checked out The Cutting Cafe lately? There are a lot of cute new sets available. Great sets for graduation, coaches, teachers, moms, backgrounds, the list goes on. See that cute little cupcake and that sweet sentiment? Those are from the not yet released printable stamp set called Sweet Stuff stamps. Lots of other cute images and sentiments are included but you'll have to wait and see those. All I'll say is that they are yummy. Before I forget I paired up my Cutting Cafe images with one of my new C.C. Designs digital stamps from the set called Beachies. Isn't she adorable sitting on that cupcake? Sorry about the gloomy photo, lots and lots of rain in Iowa. If I waited for it to stop I'd never post anything.

Digital Tuesday Challenge

This weeks Digital Tuesday Challenge is to make a non-traditional fold or non-traditional shaped card. I thought my star shaped printable template from The Cutting Cafe would be perfect. These adorable space images are from My Grafico. The digital stamp set is called 3, 2, 1 Blast Off by Zenware Designs. My Grafico are this weeks sponsors. They were kind enough to send the DT a digital stamp set to use for the challenge and are also giving away 1 set of digital images of choice to the winner. They have some fabulous sets. I of course have my eye on a couple of them already.

Wanna join in on the fun? The same rules apply this week: you may create anything you want, but you have to use at least one digital stamp on your project. (No company restriction!) To have a chance at winning post a comment with a link to your card on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog.

Blog Hop Winner

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Shirleys 2 Girls Blog hop. I hope you saw plenty of inspiration and some fabulous new images. In case you haven't checked yet the winner has been posted HERE. I thought it was appropriate to announce the winner while featuring another image from Shirleys 2 Girls. This one is called Chanel Blames SG 58-talk about attitude- yep she has it. I bought a new corner punch from Hobby Lobby only because it was 50% off and thought I'd try it out. I punched out a couple of circles and cut them in half. Then I used the corner punch to cut out a floral pattern. I think it gives the circles and interesting look.

Winnie and Funky Fairy's

Here's a card that I made a couple of weeks ago. The digital image is from Willow Designs. The images in the set come colored and non-colored. I thought I'd try a pre-colored image and have to say that it really makes it quick and easy. Of course I love to color so you won't see too many pre-colored images here. I shouldn't have check the site because there are some cute new Winnie images. I am trying so hard not to click on the Add to Cart button. That adorable paper (polka dotted and floral) is from Funky Fairy's Papercrafts and yes it is digital. The set is called Just a Bit. There is also a coordinated alphabet set that you can purchase as well. What fabulous colors.

Shirleys 2 Girls Blog Hop

Welcome to the very first Shirley’s 2 Girls Blog Hop! Today Shirley’s 2 Girls is releasing 15 of new images that all revolve around babies and mothers. To celebrate this release, we invite you to hop along with the Shirley’s 2 Girls’ Ladies With Attitude, as well as two of our Ladies With Attitude Guest Designers. The Hop begins at the Ladies With Attitude Blog where you’ll find the guidelines on how to win the Grand Prize.

So, if you started here on my blog, you need to hop on over to the Ladies With Attitude Blog FIRST for all the rules and regulations. If you have already visited the Ladies with Attitude blog and and this is your second stop you are on your way.

Here's my first sample. I used the adorable Cutie Patootie (SG 70) image as well as the Announcing with Flower SG 74 image on this one. The bookmark announcement pulls out of the designer paper pocket. This image almost makes me want to have another little one -ALMOST

For my second project I used the Bro/Sis Banner image SG 69 and one of the new digi papers "rattle" called Peek A Boo DGP2. I ended up cutting out the center panel from the banner so I could frame my sentiment and add dimension. I'm just that kind of gal. There are lots of possibilities for this one.

In order to be eligible for the GRAND prize at the end of the Blog Hop, please leave a comment here on my blog, and then hop on over to the next Lady With Attitude,

Joy Stagg

Fabulous

I thought I'd post something a little different today and something that doesn't include the color pink :) When I saw this My Minds Eye paper I knew I had to get it just to cut out the flowers. All in all the card still measures 4.25 X 5.5 inches so it will fit in a standard sized envie. The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe and is called Chunky Praise Phrases. Since my flower image was so large I decided to only use a portion of the phrase and printed it directly onto my designer paper. This card was definitely quick and easy. I definitely need more of that.

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Teacher Appreciation

Today's card was made for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge. This weeks theme is Thank a teacher. I used a couple of digital images for this one. The library card is from Lindsay at The Frugal Crafter. The great thing about it is that it can be resized and printed over and over again. No need to worry about stamping it straight and no smearing! The girl image is from a picasa web album that I found. I'll try to upload the link later today. I didn't have time to create a digi sentiment so I used SU's Trendy Trees. Wanna join in on the fun? The same rules apply this week: you may create anything you want, but you have to use at least one digital stamp on your project. (No company restriction!) This week Digital Stamp Oasis will be giving away 3 images of choice to one lucky winner. To have a chance at winning post a comment with a link to your card on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog.

Hula Sophie

Here's a quick and simple card using Hanna Stamps -Hula Sophie. I found these adorable little flowers at the LSS and had to get them. I used my Memory Maker's Chloes Closet papers. I'm trying really hard to use paper scraps more often because they are really starting to pile up. I know there are a few of you out there that can relate. Anyway, Happy Monday.

Welcome Baby

I don't make baby cards that often and when I do boy do I struggle. I think making masculine cards is easier. I never thought I'd say that. Anyway I used my new baby set from Squigglefly. There are several images to choose from in the set and since they are digital you can pretty much do just about anything. Don't forget to check out Squigglefly's every day in May. A new image will be released each day. How exciting is that?
