Chicken Girl Design Release

In case you haven't heard yet, Chicken Girl Designs has gone digital and I am glad they did. Here's one of the 3 new releases available from i {heart} papers and Chicken Girl Designs. Its called Spring Giraffe. Click here to view the April Collection. If you are not familiar with CGD and would like to see what they have to offer here's the key. Now onto my card. I used several items from IHP including Sassafras Lass designer paper, Blue Satin Ribbon, Felt Flowers and a Lemonade Glazed Brad. If you haven't visited IHP in awhile there are lots and lots of new items to choose from including Copic markers and every color refill and the best thing is that you can find it all in one place. I love that.

Let's Party

Here's a quick and easy card made with my Birthday Wishes set from i {heart} papers. Since its a birthday card I went for the bold and bright colors. I really wanted to layer the elephant image but didn't have a large oval die. I need to get a set of them soon because I'm starting to like the oval shape. Those fabulous papers are from Sassafras Lass and My Minds Eye. Two of my favorites.

Stamps: IHP - Birthday Wishes
Paper: Gable Green, Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, White, My Minds Eye, Sassafras Lass DP

Release Day

Today is the day when you can order Birthday Wishes from i {heart} papers. I'll be posting some new projects made with this set very soon. I just need to buckle down and start snapping pictures. Luckily I've been working on my Christmas cards and should be half done with them by the end of the week. I'm trying really hard to get them done early this year.

Sneak Peek - Birthday Wishes

It's time for the latest i {heart} papers sneak peek. This set is called Birthday Wishes. There are definitely some cute images in this one. I think they would make some fun gift tags. I decided to make a scrapling (3.5 X 5.5) for my first project with the set. That cool designer paper is from Sassafrass Lass and is called Harold and Friends. I just love the die cut bottom on it. It adds so much character to such a simple card. As you can see I'm still in my In Color phase. Bermuda Bay is my favorite new color and I just love that polka dot ribbon. It's hard not to put it on everything.

Stamps: IHP - Birthday Wishes
Paper: Real Red, Bermuda Bay, White, Sassafrass Lass - Harold and Friends
Accessories: Copics, Dimensionals, SU Window Punch, Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon

It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas

I'm not a big fan of making small cards only because I don't think there is enough space to decorate *LOL* I cheated and made these 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches instead of the standard 3 X 3, which of course means I need to make custom envelopes or tuck them in as gift cards. I used both stamp sets Just Skating By and It's a Snow Day from i {heart} papers. I used my new Basic Grey pad called Eskimo Kisses again but added a Candy Cane ribbon.

Stamps: IHP - Just Skating By and It's a Snow Day
Paper: Garden Green, Real Red, White, Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses
Accessories: Copics, Dimensionals, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 3/8 inch Grosgrain Diagonal Stripes Red/White Ribbon (Candy Cane)

Snow Scene

Here's the card I mentioned last week. I decided to combine some of the stamps in the Just Skating By and It's a Snow Day sets released this month from i {heart} papers. This card may look like it has a lot of things going on but really came together pretty quickly. I used my new Basic Grey pad called Eskimo Kisses and the Labels one Nestabilities that I just love. I have lots of other Nesties on my wish list and hope to add them to my collection soon. I have to say that it was a fun little scene to create.

Trick or Treat

Back to Halloween *LOL* Don't worry I'll run out of Halloween cards soon. At least its a break from all the pink I usually do. Here's another one of those cards that came together quickly due to the simplicity of it. I call this one my get my butt in gear project since it was done in an incredibly short amount of time. I used my Happy Halloween stamp set from i {heart} papers. Lots of cute images in the set. See that gorgeous paper in the background? I really didn't want to cover too much of that up. Its from Memory Box -Twilight Collection pad and can be found at IHP of course. Also if you are looking for some nestabilities dies you can find the Double Ended Tags nestabilities here and the Labels One nestabilites here. I used both of them in addition to my Key Tag punch from Stampin Up.

Paper: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, White, Memory Box - Twilight Collection DP

Eat, Drink and Be Scary

I thought I'd challenge myself to something different and this is what I ended up with. Although it is still in my running theme of Halloween I was hoping that it would be different enough to inspire you in some way. The fun little monster image is from i {heart} papers and is called Silly Monsters. I used Basic Grey -Granola brads for his eyes. Lets just say that the sentiment goes perfectly with those eyes. The star shape and the Eat, Drink and Be Scary Label are both from The Cutting Cafe.

Stamps: Silly Monsters - IHP, The Cutting Café – Shaped Cards set 1 – Star and Halloween Labels
Paper: SU Basic Black, Gable Green, Tangerine Tango, GP 110 White, S2G Bats and Cats Digital Paper, We R Memory Keepers – Black Out Halloween Collection, Sei – Eerie Alley DP, SU Ghostly Greetings DP
Accessories: American Crafts Ribbon, Dimensionals, CB Embossing Folder – Swiss Dots, Mark Richards Metallic Pearls, SU Orange Striped Ribbon, Granola Glazed Brads- Basic Grey

Here's one more card. I made this one for the SCS Sketch Challenge SC235 and used my Happy Halloween set from IHP. I think I went a little bat crazy. It gave me an excuse to use that Double Faced Faux Orange Suede Ribbon and My Mind's Eye - Candy Time paper again.

Monsters vs. Aliens

Here's a card I made with the newly released Silly Monsters set from i {heart} papers. When I saw this Back to the Future paper at IHP I just had to have at least a piece of it. Of course at the time I had no idea what I was going to do with it. After I got my new monster stamps I knew just what to do. Have fun with it of course! So I decided to replace a few key pieces of the Robot paper. I added a couple of screw brads and I was done. I wish it was always this easy. This is also for Splitcoaststampers CC224 Pacific Tango Summer Challenge. There are some yellow tones in the designer paper, not quite summer sun, but they are there.

Bee my Honey

Here's my last sample for the Hugs from a Bug set from i {heart} papers. It's also for Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge CC58 (Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery and Pixie Pink). I would have never put these colors together on my own. What an interesting look they have don't you think? Still using my Large Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities which are still on sale. I just love them. I just ordered the Labels One set so you'll be seeing new shapes soon so just hang in there. Its the closest thing I could find resembling the Top Note Die. No Big Shot here. Lots of other fun projects in the making so stay tuned.

i {heart papers}

Here's a fun card I did using the Into the Forest stamp set from i {heart} papers. I used one of my favorite 6 X 6 patterned paper pads called Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle from Sassafras Lass. I've also been getting good use out of my Large Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities set. This card was made for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge SC243. It feels good to finally make some challenge cards. Since I love ribbon so much I doubled up on it. The orange ribbon is called Orange Double Faced Faux Suede and the brown is Crochet Brown. Be sure to scroll down to see my next post. It was made for Squigglefly's shaped card challenge. As you know I love making shaped cards.

I'm nuts about you

Here's another project made with the In the Forest stamp set from i {heart} papers. This time I used the cute little squirrel image from the set. That gorgeous paper is Sassafras Lass . It came in a fun little card size pack here along with that double sided pink ribbon. I was determined to make something a little different than the usual standard fold card shape. The card actually opens on the top only and when it is opened it looks like the squirrel is standing under a house. Too cute.

Bee my honey

Here's a card using my Hugs from a Bug set from i {heart} papers and Chickengirl designs. I used my Basic Grey pad called Urban Prairie which is still one of my favorite brand of papers. That and My Mind's Eye. Gotta love them. That cute little ribbon is also from i {heart} papers and can be found here. Ribbon is by far my favorite embellishment. Its so quick and easy and there are so many kinds out there to choose from too. I have such a hard time using circles so I thought I should use them more until I can figure out just how to create a balance with them. So I used one of my Nestabilities sets. This one is from the Classic Scalloped Circles set. I just bought the deckled Nestabilities set so I'll be using that one soon.

I also used my Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6 X 6 pad which I just LOVE and pearl accents. I wish I could say that I'm organized and ahead of the game enough to do more challenges. I am hanging by a string these days and am so down to the wire that I wonder how I manange to keep up. Things should be winding down soon. Now for the fun part. Do you like free stamps? I know I do. To win the set posted down below all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. A random winner will be selected on Tuesday, August 18th. That should give everyone enough time to enter their name into the hat, even the busy ones.
