Bugs and Kisses Kind of Day

Here is the group photo of all of the projects I have recently made with the "Bugs and Kisses" set. More information on each project can be seen in the next few posts.

Bugs and Kisses Caterpillar Style

I borrowed Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" set from a friend so I wanted to put it into good use. To get the grass effect I used the masking technique with the Sanded Background Stamp. I also stamped an additional caterpillar and used dimensionals to overlay the middle caterpillar for a more dramatic look although its hard to see in the photo.

Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black

Bugs and Kisses (Girl Version)

I decided to use Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" to make a girl version of the Bugs and Kisses card below. I kept the same layout but changed the color scheme to a pink and brown combination.

I never seem to have enough kid birthday cards when I need them. Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" set can be easily be adapted for a boy or a girl based on color scheme. Here's my boy version of a full (4.25 X 5.5) card. I hope to post a girl version later today.

I really wanted to participate in the Gina K April Release Sketch Challenge although I was no where near a a stamping mood. I decided to go for the plunge but with a twist: no stamping. Paper, rub ons and embellishments, just that simple.

Snappy Birthday

I dream of summer. It's hard not to think of the warm, fun times ahead. Summer makes me think of the beach, building sandcastles and an afternoon nap. Stampin Up's Fishy Friends is one of those stamp sets that I regret not purchasing. You never truly know what set will last over time. I have found myself getting caught up in a new set and later finding out that I rarely use it. I'm sure we all have a few stamps that are sitting in a box somewhere getting all dusty. I didn't have the right sentiment for this card so I did use the Snappy Birthday from Crab and Co.

Stamps: Polka Dots and Paisleys, Crab and Co (WRAK star2shine), Fishy Friends (WRAK bugstersmom)
Paper: Real Red, Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue (WRAK truckerswife), white
Accessories: Silver cord, eyelets, dimensionals, distressing tool, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol
