Bugs and Kisses Kind of Day

Here is the group photo of all of the projects I have recently made with the "Bugs and Kisses" set. More information on each project can be seen in the next few posts.

Bugs and Kisses Caterpillar Style

I borrowed Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" set from a friend so I wanted to put it into good use. To get the grass effect I used the masking technique with the Sanded Background Stamp. I also stamped an additional caterpillar and used dimensionals to overlay the middle caterpillar for a more dramatic look although its hard to see in the photo.

Stamps: Bugs and Kisses, Cracked, Polka Dots and Paisleys
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black
Accessories: Pomegranate double stitched ribbon, Large tag punch, Dimensionals

Bugs and Kisses Mini Scrapbook

I decided to make a mini scrapbook album using Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" set.

Here is a picture of the scrapbook open:

Bugs and Kisses (Girl Version)

I decided to use Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" to make a girl version of the Bugs and Kisses card below. I kept the same layout but changed the color scheme to a pink and brown combination.

Stamps: Bugs and Kisses, Canvas BG
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip

Bugs and Kisses (Boy Version)

I never seem to have enough kid birthday cards when I need them. Stampin Ups "Bugs and Kisses" set can be easily be adapted for a boy or a girl based on color scheme. Here's my boy version of a full (4.25 X 5.5) card. I hope to post a girl version later today.

Stamps: Bugs and Kisses, Canvas BG

Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue (WRAK gurlsofgrace), W. Wasabi, White

Wonderful Day

The image for this card is from My Favorite Things and is called Happy Mothers Day. I masked the sentiment a bit so it wasn't a Mother's Day card. I simply removed the word Mother's in the saying. It was that easy.

Stamps: MFT Happy Mother's Day, Polka Dots and Paisleys
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Reminsce DP
Ink: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: CB Swiss Dots embossing folder (WRAK glo24), Purely Pomegranate ribbon, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol

How Sweet

This card was made for the SC173 Card Sketch Challenge on SCS. When I ran across the patterned paper strips from My Minds Eye I knew I just had to make a card with it. That's how I ended up with another bright color combination of pumpkin pie and taken with teal. I did use a litte river rock to soften the image up a bit. Penny Black Hedgehogs are adorable.

Stamps: Penny Black (WRAK Maddiesmom), Canvas BG, My Favorite Things How Sweet (WRAK Debwinia)
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal, River Rock, My Minds Eye

Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol

Thinking of You

I really wanted to participate in the Gina K April Release Sketch Challenge although I was no where near a a stamping mood. I decided to go for the plunge but with a twist: no stamping. Paper, rub ons and embellishments, just that simple.

Accessories: Love and Happiness Rub ons, Rhinestone Brad, Flower

Retail Therapy

This card was made with the Say Charge set by My Favorite Things. This was a fun image to color. I wanted the image to be the feature so I didn't add many elements to the card. Clean and simple.

Paper: Pink Passion, Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink, Basic Black, Basic Grey
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Silver Brads

You Make Me Happy

I have to admit that once I find myself using a particular stamp set I end up making multiple cards using the same set. This is Fishy Friends again. I am trying to limit my use of ribbon or change how I use it so my cards take on a unique rather than uniform look. I love the color combination (Ballet Blue and So Saffron) on this card and will most likely use it again. You can't tell from this picture but there is a certain sparkle to the jelly fish. I used liquid shimmerz to make the images glisten. It was one of those products I bought a long time ago and forgot about.

Stamps: Fishy Friends (WRAK bugstersmom), Canvas BG, Boho Backgrounds
Paper: Ballet Blue (WRAK mommapatti), So Saffron, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: So Saffron, Versamark, Stazon Black
Accessories: Black Gingham ribbon, Shimmerz (Angel Wings), Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol

Embrace Thank you

I wanted to make a quick and easy set of thank you cards so I decided that 3 X 3 cards would be the way to go. Of course I couldn't resist making a full card version. I ended up using the Embrace Life stamp set since its so versatile and lots of fun to color with my Prismas.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Polka Dots and Paisleys, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Groovy Guava, Rose Red, White
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: 5/8 inch Rose Red Grosgrain ribbon, 1 inch Circle Punch, Primacolor Pencils, Gamsol

RAK card- Priceless

I received this beautiful card from a fellow Wish-Raker "Lynn in St. Louis". Thanks for thinking of me. I love the color combination and layout. So many little details make this card really stand out.

Snappy Birthday

I dream of summer. It's hard not to think of the warm, fun times ahead. Summer makes me think of the beach, building sandcastles and an afternoon nap. Stampin Up's Fishy Friends is one of those stamp sets that I regret not purchasing. You never truly know what set will last over time. I have found myself getting caught up in a new set and later finding out that I rarely use it. I'm sure we all have a few stamps that are sitting in a box somewhere getting all dusty. I didn't have the right sentiment for this card so I did use the Snappy Birthday from Crab and Co.

Stamps: Polka Dots and Paisleys, Crab and Co (WRAK star2shine), Fishy Friends (WRAK bugstersmom)
Paper: Real Red, Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue (WRAK truckerswife), white
Accessories: Silver cord, eyelets, dimensionals, distressing tool, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol
