This is my first card using The Rubber Cafe's stamps. This image is called Wheat Bundle and is perfect for this time of year. I wanted to use rich, warm fall colors so I ended up with a Morning Marigold, Really Rust/ Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip color combination. When I saw this image the first thing I thought of was texture so I wanted to add a few elements to showcase its natural look. I distressed the cardstock that the image was stamped on, used a heavily textured paper aand added a little paper tearing. The second thing I thought of was metal/industrial, hence the antique copper brads and the silver wire screen.
Stamps: The Rubber Cafe - Wheat Bundle
Paper: Really Rust, Marigold Morning, Very Vanilla, Provo Craft Textures
Ink: Marigold Morning, Really Rust
Accessories: Natural Hemp Twine, MM Antique Copper Brads, Wire Mesh, Sponge Dauber
I enjoyed making my my first card that I decided to make another one only this time really allowing the colors and images pop. I used a combination of the CB fall embossing folder and paper tearing to give it a raw and more interesting look. Then I added the antique copper brads and Alpha Letters. To highlight the embossed lettering I applied chocolate chip ink with a sponge dauber. As you can see I also stamped the image in two different color inks this time. I think it gives it a bolder, stronger look.

Fall Splendor
Rachelle Anne Miller stamps are super popular right now and I can definitely see why. I especially love the Lily and Milo collection. A dear friend from the Wish Rak group (thanks bottomphish) on Splitcoaststampers.com sent me a wonderful envelope of stamped wishes and my very own RAM stamp. Of course I had to use it right away :) She also sent me tree images. One of them can be seen below. The trees were stamped on white cardstock so I took my Pumpkin Spectrum pad and a brayer and gave it a burst of color. I haven't used my brayer in ages and I have to say that I do love it. I really wanted to put something in the upper left hand corner but wasn't sure what so I left it alone for now. I may have to make some leaf punches.

Friendship
Here's a card that I made using Wish Rak Images. Unfortunately I don't know what company made the images. I will have to go on a little search mission so I can give proper credit. If you happen to find out first please let me know. The images were stamped on white cardstock so all I had to do was color, cut and assemble. Well most of them. I did stamp the name Bud on the doghouse sign but other than that it was me, my copics and a little sponge dauber. This is as close as I'll get to having a real dog and I'm fine with that. Kids keep me plenty busy already.

Go Hawks
Back to the moose cards. I know Riley is my weakness. I never thought I'd enjoy a sports image so much. I decided to use the Iowa Hawkeyes team colors of course. I only had a few paper scraps left from my Iowa Hawkeyes mini scrapbook album I made. I may have to post that after I attach the pictures I took at the Iowa vs. Maine game. So far the Hawks are 3-0. Can't complain about that. Beware I have other unmounted moose rubber to break in.

Here's a different take on Lily. This time she is holding a flower and is decked out in purple and green. No matter what she is wearing she is adorable. This card is 4.25 X 4.25. I thought I'd change the dimensions a bit so I could focus more on the image rather than its surroundings. I'm also trying to use up the last of my lavendar lace cardstock although I know I'll miss it when its gone.

Stamp out illiteracy
Here's keeping to the current season and thinking about school. This is Bookworm Hanna from Hanna Stamps. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few images to try out. Although the chair begs to be paper pieced I had to resort to coloring, at least until I am able to get my own set. Its hard to tell in the picture but the half sized index card slides in and out of the pocket. I wanted to not only use school supplies but to mimic a library card theme as well.

Fun in the Sun
As summer reaches its end I thought I'd make a few more cards that remind me of the sun's warmth. I've never been a big fan of cold weather so I am always said to see it go. This set by Clear Dollar Stamps was a gift from a fellow Wish Raker (Thanks McFadden for your generosity). I've had my eye on this set for awhile now. The images are fun and versatile and the sentiments are just the right touch. I'll be using this set for a long time to come and am sure that it will grace a few scrapbookpages along the way.
