Time for Chantigo

Do you have stamps that you to buy only to find them on the bottom of the bin, uninked? Here's two of mine.

I have to say that I did find the tire swing stamp a little challenging. Its not that easy to color a tire. I guess that's why I ended up stamping it on a blackish/grayish marble scrap of paper instead. I picked up the paper at a local rummage sale. It was one of those mystery grab bags. One that was disappointing to open at the time. Of course I hung onto its contents with the well you never know philosopy. I suppose if you wait long enough you'll find a use for it. I covered the thank u sentiment in the flowers center with a button.

The Scoop

At My Favorite Things June Release I decided that I had to have it all and I am glad that I did. This set is called Here's the Scoop. I'm new to paper piecing and have to say that I just can't help myself. I love the technique and all that can be done with it. The hardest part to paper piecing is finding several coordinated papers. Most of my stamping supplies are packed away in totes since my last move so that is a difficult feat. I have plenty of supplies just limited access to them. I hope to change that soon.

Bathing Riley

This is my card for the Hanna Stamps Sketch HSC21 (see sketch link below). Believe it or not I currently do not own any Riley stamps but hope to soon after the next release on Friday, June 20 th.

I was fortunate to receive stamped images from my friends on the Wish Rak group. To make Riley suitable for the tub position I colored and cut out his body from a Tractor Riley image and colored and cut out the head from a Plane Riley image and pieced them together. I used my copics, I love the sound of that but in truth I only have a handful of them. I started by buying Riley colors and hope to slowly expand one copic at a time if necessary.

The tub is from My Favorite Things Presents(Annie LaPointe). I stamped the image, cut out the tub and since the tub was too long I cut out a section and pieced it together to make it fit on the Mega Scallop punch. I used several scraps for the card including two pieces of blue ribbon that I tied together to make a bow. I also cut out a line of bubbles to make it look like a real bubble bath and used the matching paper to follow the sketch. Although this challenge wasn't a limited supply challenge it certainly felt like one. The overall card is 4.25 by 4.25 which happened to be the size of the scrap piece of cardstock.

Aloha

I would like to introduce Sophie by Hanna Stamps . You may already know that I love Riley the Moose but now he has some competition. Sophie, Riley's wife, has emerged and she is here to stay.

I put my handful of Copic Markers to work on this one. I need to work on my blending and shadow placement but overall I love the results. I can definitely see why these markers are so popular. I also used the paper tolle technique, the act of cutting out a piece of an image and layering it with dimensionals. Its hard to see in the picture but Sophie's hula skirt has been raised to add more dimension. I also stamped and cut out flower that Sophie is wearing. She's a well put together moose, don't 'cha think?

Thank you Trio

This card set is for the My Favorite Things June Ambassador Challenge #1. The challenge was to create a 3 x 3 card and a matching envelope. Since I don't routinely mail cards this small I decided to embellish a library card envelope instead. Although it is time consuming I do enjoy paper piecing.

Stamps: MFT- Happy Mother's Day
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Textured Pink, Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink DP, Mat stacks
Ink: Brilliance Archival
Accessories: Library card holder, dimensionals, Square punch, Rose Red 5/8 inch ribbon

In the end I completed three cards using the same set. The hardest part for me was picking out my color scheme.
