Life

As you can see I am still loving the pink and black color combination. It's also my way of using some of my newly acquired Valentine's paper scraps. I have a drawer full of scraps and am trying my best to not add many more and am still working on using up the rest.

Speaking of using, I finally used one of my impulse buy punches..you know the one that you aren't sure what you're going to do with it but have too have? I have to say that it works great with paper clips.

Spooky Halloween

I know you are thinking: Halloween again? Don't fret, the month will soon be over and you'll then see Xmas and Winter Cards...I hope. This card is all about the paper- no stamping, no fuss. I even added 13 metallic pearls but who's counting? All the papers and ribbon are from Stampin Up.

She also has a stained glass floral doodledallion. Now for more FSS news! We now have a challenge blog!! The challenges will be posted on the last Monday of the month. There will be a draw for a free FSS image on FEB 1st for our followers. Also there is a HUGE list on the challenge blog with all the links to previous FSS freebies, which will also be updated as new freebies are added. And we are having a blog hop on the 15th of this month so you will see even more new releases then too. I used one of the pre-colored fall flowers for the card that I am showing you today. Road Trip

I finally had a little time to squeeze in a project. I used Stampin Up's 'Under the Stars' set for this one because it was the only image that I could find that wouldn't cover up too much of the designer paper. The card design is from Splitcoaststampers Card Sketch Challenge SC208. For some reason I had a hard time coloring the bear with my Copics (can't seem to get it right) so I 'cheated' and used ink pads and a sponge dauber. He almost appears fuzzy that way. I'm sure I'll use this sketch again. If you are interested in trying out the challenge you can find the sketch below.

Christmas is here

I put off making Christmas cards so long that I ended up making something ultra simple and without ribbon *gasp*. At least these won't require extra postage. I'm still in the process of writing them out but plan on mailing them first thing Monday morning so they should reach the majority of people in time. I really need to start making Christmas cards throughout the year to make things easier. I used supplies I had on hand this year but hope to plan ahead next time. Soon I'll be able to focus on Valentines Day cards and a kindergarten activity. If you have any simple project ideas for a school activity please let me know.

My dear kind and wonderful friend

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. Its great spending time with family. Here's one of the projects that I made last night. I started it with a different image in mind but found that this simple sentiment was all that it needed. I also made an 8 X 8 scrapbook page but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see that one. The layout is a simply one and I haven't added any pictures yet but thought that if I'm going to ease back into it I need to start somewhere.

'Tis the season so here's another Christmas card. I haven't decided what I'm making this year so I thought I'd try out several different options. I may end up with quick and simple but you never know. It really comes down to time and mood. This card was made with a retired set called Sidekick Sayings. I ended up trading a different stamp set for this one well after it retired. The set didn't interest me when it was available and then one day I just had to have it. That's just how it goes sometimes.

Its time for fall cards and I've seen a lot of great ones in the gallery. I had a little time while there was still daylight (I usually stamp at night while the kiddos are asleep) so I made a quick fall card. I used the pumpkin from Stampin Up's Little Layers II set. I also used a fall stamp set that I found in Target's Dollar aisle. I definitely need to check there more often.

I am trying to incorporate more Cuttlebug folders since there are several that I had to have. Less guilt that way. I've also been debating whether I should post a new challenge on a designated day of the week. Technique Tuesday or something along those lines. I'm still tossing ideas around my head. You'll be the first to know if I come up with something. I need to challenge myself to do more.

Grateful

One of my new neighbors surprised me with a jar of homemade applesauce. It was delicious and so much better than store bought. Here's the thank you card that I plan on giving her. Although I didn't photograph the inside I ended up adhering a piece of white cardstock on the inside and stamped an apple on the lower right hand corner. I hope she likes it.

Spring Solitude

I guess I've been in the floral mood. I guess that's what can happen when you make several cards in a day. This one was made with Stampin Up's Spring Solitude set. It's a nice set for all occassion cards as it can be dressed up or kept simple as you see here.

Thinking of You

Switching gears to a set that I rarely use, All Year Cheer from Stampin Up. I think its one of those sets that I keep forgetting I have. Its also because all of my scrapbooking/cardmaking supplies are in various totes, still waiting to be unpacked and put in a proper spot. Unfortunately my craft room isn't finished yet, in fact its a long way from that. So I find myself only using things that are readily available. Mind you I have quite the collection of things, just limited access to them.

Thanks so much

I thought you'd appreciate a none Halloween card so I whipped up this one to break it up a little. I love Stampin Ups new In Colors. This one was made with Pacific Point blue and is very uplifting and vibrant. Of course there are 5 other colors begging me to buy them and I know I will end up with most of them before long.

Veggie Patch

This stamp set goes way back 2003. Its a long retired Stampin Up set that was part of the definitely decorative collection. I don't recall the name as its a set that I do not own. A friend of mine stamped the images for me so all I had to do was assemble. Needless to say it was a very quick and easy card to do. I was limited on supplies at the time so I kept it very simple and plan on building its complexity later today *fingers crossed*

Pink Blossoms

I finally have a card to share. Its my 5 minute or less card. Here's the secret: The two step stamping was done for me by a fellow Wish-Raker (thanks kchase). All I had to do was trim the image, add a double mat and add some ribbon. It can't get any easier than that.

The image is from Stampin Up and is recently retired. I believe I have found my the stamp set that I wish I had purchased. I usually have one of those per year. I still to this day regret not getting Fishy Friends when that was available.

Bloomin' Beautiful

This card was made with Stampin Up's Bloomin'Beautiful stamp set. I wanted the image to look like a packet of flower seeds so I added score lines in 1 inch increments before stamping the background image. I used chalk so the image would take on more of a worn look. I wanted to keep focus on the main image so I added a simple ribbon to complete the card.

Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Textured Wild Wasabi, White
