Squigglefly Challenge- ATC

This week's Squigglefly challenge was to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card). I used the image Beach Baby. For those of you who do not know ATC cards are generally 2.5 X 3.5 inches. Not much room to embellish so I struggled a bit. I did figure out a way to add ribbon and some pearls though.

A scrapbook page, yes it's true

OK I admit it, I scrapbook it's just a rare event. A friend of mine mentioned wanting scrapbook page kits for her daughter's birthday which is this weekend. I started off making page kits that they could put together easily. Then the scrapbook bug hit and I decided to make an 8 X 8 birthday album as well. I used Bazzill textured cardstock, My Minds Eye DP and K & C Company Stickers so that all the pages would easily coordinate. Here are a couple of pages. I'll try to post the remaining pages throughout the week. It took me a couple of hours but I managed to make 8 pages and 2 page kits. Not too bad especially since I am so rusty. So how did I do?

To have a chance at winning the prize, all you have to do is make a card or other item with this theme in mind and be sure to use a digital stamp somewhere on your project. Then add the link to your project on Mr. Linky on the DTC Blog. You don't have to have a blog to participate, just add the link to your card in an online gallery like SCS or PCP. Friends are Flowers- Squigglefly Challenge

It's time for another Squigglefly challenge. This time we were asked to make a project using the "out of the box" technique. The idea is to have part of the image extending beyond the box or shape of the image. My card uses this technique but is very subtle. The idea for my out of the box is anything "outside" the rectangle of the window which includes a small portion of the flowers and the flower pot. I really wanted to use my new image from Squigglefly so this is what I ended up with. The image is called Pretty Window Box and the sentiment is Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life. I think they pair up nicely.

# 1 Dad

Regina at The Cutting Cafe came out with another great Father's Day set. I used the tie template and one of the sentiments on my card. There is also a cool shirt and tie card template as well. Fun, fun, fun. And remember that this template would be great for Dad's birthday or uncle's for that matter. If you haven't been over there in awhile, now is the time. Also be sure to check out the DT call that is going on now. Regina is looking for 2-3 designers but time is running out.

A new blog in town

Please scroll down to see my first post of the day. It features an adorable turtle image that is available for a free download.

My oldest daughter (soon to be 6) asked me if she could have her own website so she could post pictures of her projects. A little unexpected I know. She has my blog listed in her favorites folder and is always checking to see what I've done and loves to look at the comments. She's constantly asking to use this punch or that paper and loves all things that sparkle. Since I'll do all the posting I thought I'd see how it goes and made her one. Feel free to check it out. Its called Mom's Little Shadow and if you have time please leave a little love she'll get such a big kick out of it. I just posted her first project. Thanks and happy crafting.

This Bud's for you

You must know by now just how much I love and use digital stamps. I stumbled upon another company that has some very cute designs. They are called Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps. For a limited time you can download Whimsie the Turtle image for free. With all these companies and images to choose from I am seriously going to go broke soon *LOL*. Anyway I hope you check them out because their stuff is cute and you can't go wrong with the free turtle image and sentiment. I used it in the card below. I made this card with scraps that I had laying around on my table. I just love that little turtle and hope that you do too.

Digital Tuesday Challenge

It's time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This time we were asked to decorate a box or a bag. I was stumped with this challenge and then decided that I should just make a box or something box like. I used one of Lauren Meader's templates from Papertrey Ink and was glad to find out that it really wasn't that hard. All you really need is two sheets of cardstock and one sheet of designer paper or cardstock (with a stamped background). It really came together pretty easily. If you do decide to make one I'd recommend sticky strip tape or some other strong adhesive to keep your box from unraveling.

This week's sponsor is My Grafico. They are giving away a set of digital stamps (winner's choice). All you have to do to win is to create a project using one digital image (no company restrictions), post it in your gallery or blog and post a comment with the link on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog. A random winner will be selected from all the entries next Tuesday. Good Luck!

Stamps: Featured Card: C.C. Designs, Lauren Meader Printable Template
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Unknown Digi Paper
Accessories: 5/8 inch Rose Ribbon, Misc. Flower from Specialty Ribbon by the Yard, Sticky Strip Tape

Squigglefly Challenge #5

Squigglefly's DT was given a color combination challenge this week. We were asked to use Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette. Wow what a tough combination. I would have never thought to put these colors together. Since I chose a boy image I didn't want the pink to be too obvious but its there. I also used a different card fold today. The image flips up and the bottom panel flips down. I thought it was time to mix it up a bit. I chose not to paper piece his clothes only because I had a full day planned and really didn't have much time for stamping today. This card luckily came together quite easily.

Stamps: Squigglefly - Walk the Dog
Paper: Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, White, Basic Grey
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Copics, Buttons, Silver Cord, SU Scallop Punch, Pacific Point Striped Ribbon, CB Embossing Folder

Out of this world

Sometimes card's need to be quick and simple. I made this one with the digital stamp set 3,2,1 Blast Off from Zenware Designs purchased through My Grafico. The grid paper is actually a digi paper from Funky Fairy's Papercrafts. The sentiment was computer generated. All in all, easy peasy.

Last Day of School

My daughter's last day of kindergarten was yesterday. Wow did that go by fast. I thought I'd give my friend Lindsay's card kit and digital image a try. I have to say having digital paper and embellishments that coordinate print out on one 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper is pretty neat. I colored the digi image with my copics and added a fabulous little sentiment from The Cutting Cafe. Its amazing just how many times I need just a little something and Regina has it covered. The sentiment is actually from the Teachers Aide and Coach set. There is also a bus driver set and a couple of teacher sets too. I really wish I would have taken a picture of the inside of the card. I created a pocket using the same DP and placed a library card that I made in it. Great for adding a little note. Also available at Lindsay's shop.

Twisted Thursday Challenge - S2GSC13

Time for another Shirleys 2 girls Sketch Challenge (see sketch below). This weeks twist is to use paper piecing. Its hard to tell on my card but the dog was actually paper pieced. I wasn't sure if I could pull off coloring him in the first time around so it was supposed to be my practice dog. The contest ends on Sunday, June 7th at midnight. You can find all the deets here as well as Mr. Linky so lets see what you've got. For my card I used Bark Day SG 611. If you haven't been to Shirleys 2 girls recently you should take a peek. There are some great new dog images and even more fun stamps to come but those are TOP SECRET for now.

Blog Nut

Ok fellow bloggers there is a new set in town and its all about blogging. It includes 23 sentiments and is from none other than The Cutting Cafe. There is even a cute little background stamp in the set. Be sure to check it out. As you can see I have been playing with my sewing machine. I know nothing about sewing. In fact, my poor hubby is the one that threaded the bobbin and set it up for me *LOL* Don't look too closely because the stitches on the middle panel and sentiment were drawn with a white gel pen. The machine jammed and I said the heck with it and went to bed and yes it is still jammed and awaiting my hubby's attention. I told ya I couldn't sew.
