Thinking of You

The only thing better than texture and dimension is when they work together. Lots of dimensionals used for this one. Each brown piece of the turtle, head and flower have been popped up. The turtle image is from Squigglefly. Since it is a digital image -surprise, surprise I got it right away and it was super economical. Oh if you like critters and such you should know that Whimsy Stamps is looking to add an additional DT member to their group. You can find the deets here. Good Luck to those who apply. Oh before I forget, that cute little thinking of you embellishment is from The Cutting Cafe. The set is called All occasion circle words. Its a set of 6 phrases which come in 1 inch, 1.5 and 2 inch circles. Its a great little addition to any project.

A little beauty

Digital and printable-the way of the future? Well for me it is. Here's a card using my new printable stamp from The Cutting Cafe. The true size of this flower is 3.5 X 10 inches which is great for a scrapbook page or one really large card *LOL*. I decided to make it better suited for a card this time. If you don't have Photoshop you can go into page set up and set your page scaling to 35%. You'll get the same result. The girl image is from C.C. Designs and is from my digital set called Gingersnap, Hey Cupid. Isn't she sweet?

Handle with Care

I finally set a little time for me and made a handful of projects last night. The kids and hubby have been ill since last week so I'm a little behind on things. Today's card was made with a Pink Papery Studios. Isn't it adorable? I couldn't find the right embellishment so I used a sheet of rub ons that I purchased ages ago. I really need to do better when it comes to using things that I have on hand. The card is really more bright and cheery IRL, the sun is no where to be seen this morning.

A little something from me

I don't typically do giveaways but I saw this over at Tina's Blog and wanted to play along. Here's how to play: The first 5 people to comment on this post will receive something made by me. But there is a catch...

Here are the rules:

1. It's my choice what to make... and you won't know what it will be until you get it!

2. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make, but I hope you do!

3. What I create will be just for you - completely original. :)

4. It will be done this year. (that's what the rule says, but I'll work on getting it to you within the next month or so, depending on what I decide to make)

5. Now for the catch. The catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same giveaway to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. It's all about sharing the love! Be sure to come here and post a link, cuz I WILL check your blog! *wink*

In a moment

For those of you who follow regularly you know that I don't normally use Kraft. I find it very difficult to use even though I am told that it matches everything. I stumbled upon this DCWV paper pad and when I saw this I thought it would go perfectly with my Break and Mend image from Shirleys 2 Girls. The paper says Environment, Water, Air, Habitat, etc. and I just love it. Of course it makes me want to sit down and sip a cup of coffee but only because I associate chocolate chip and browns with a coffee shop.

Lucky Shamrocks!

I just love when I'm ahead of the game. I have to tell you that it doesn't happen often. In fact when I really think about it I have so many projects that I am dying to do just not enough time to get them all done. Here's one of the projects that I've been wanting to do since I got my new St. Patricks Day printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe. I also made a pail to match but ran out of daylight before I could take a decent picture of it. I'll see if I can upload it later this week. As you can see I used my new SU Trendy Trees set to create a background to eliminate some of the white space behind my main image. To my surprise I didn't use ribbon on the card. Now that doesn't happen too often :)

What breaks in a moment

Thank goodness for naps. My youngest took a decent nap yesterday so I had a little much needed time to make a couple of DT projects. Today's post features an image from Shirleys 2 girls. It was such a fun image to work with. Since the sentiment mentioned 'mend" I added a couple of buttons in lieu of my beloved ribbon and used a DP that looked stitched. Lets just say that my sewing machine and I aren't on the greatest terms. Anyway I hope you like it and be on the lookout for a St. Patricks Day card featuring the Cutting Cafe this week.

I heart you scrapbook page

Here's the page I've been meaning to upload forever. I'm not sure if you remember but they match the Valentine's Day cards I made way back when. This was my daughter's kindergarten class project for her Valentine's Day party which we went to today. The project went well and the kids did great. Alyssa made her's and insisted that she give it to her teacher so I wasn't able to get a picture of it. Here's one of the four samples I made for the class. I plan on embellishing them with ribbon, brads, etc. but wanted to keep them simple for the kids.

Here's a card similar to yesterdays post (same layout and some matching paper). This time I used one of my Shirleys 2 Girls images. Gotta love those steamy hearts. Its a great all occassion card image so what's not to love about it? Just so you know Shirleys 2 Girls has posted a challenge for you. What's in stake? how about $22 worth in stamps. Seriously check it out.

A hundred hearts

I'd like you to meet Gracie. She's a fun little image from Shirleys2girls. Isn't she adorable? As you can tell I'm still in the black and red phase. I just love the brightness and the contrast of that combination. I suppose I can get away with it a bit longer. Before long I'll be thinking of Easter and pastels.

Cherish

OK this card was done a couple of days ago but I just got around to posting it. The Pink Papery Studios design teams weekly challenge was to create a card using the sketch listed below. The added challenge was to use images from the Trafalgarssquare line. Since I only had a winter set -Catch a Falling Snowflake I improvised a bit and turned it into a Catch Hugs and Kisses card.

The whole world

I needed a little break from Valentine's Day cards so I whipped up this little number instead. The star card template is from The Cutting Cafe. There is a 7 card shape set that you can buy for $6.99. The set includes a star, oval, heart, frame, round, circle, half circle and an oval template . Its a print and cut type of template or cutting file. The cutting files can be used with your Cricut if you have the SCAL software. To make my star card I printed the template on my designer paper and then I used my printers page scaling to print another template that was slightly larger so I could layer my decorative star. The sentiment is from a piece of designer paper. All in all this was a stamp free project.

I heart you

Here's a little card I made for my daughters to pass out on Valentine's Day. The cards are 3 X 4.25. Perfect for holding a miniature bag of M & M's or Skittles. Since I need 45 of them I wanted to make something that wouldn't take much effort. Besides I used the scraps from the coordinating scrapbook page kit I put together for Alyssa's school activity. Each child was instructed to bring a 4 X 6 photo so everyone should leave with one completed scrapbook page. I wanted the kids to make something that they could bring home to mom and dad. I'll share the layout in my next post. I still have to add embellishments to the page kits and I need to put a couple of them together for examples. I'm a little nervous since its the first school activity I signed up for.
