Swirl Challenge

It's time for another Pixie Dust Studio Challenge and we are asking you to use swirls. Lots and lots of them. You can stamp, use patterned swirl paper or even draw your own. Birthday Princess

Believe it or not I am behind on my project posting. I have lots and lots of things made I just need to figure out a posting schedule and set some time aside to take some pictures. I made this card sometime last week. The image is from Claudia & Company and is called Birthday Princess. My 7 year old daughter picked this one out. It can be easily dressed up for prom and wedding cards as well. Its a fun little digi.

Here's a quick card I made using a Fred She Said pre-colored image called Wheelbarrow. I also used the Polka Dotty Flowers set to create the butterfly shape accent. To acheive the look I simply cut off a couple of the flower petals. I may have to make some butterfly accents soon. I wish I could say that I was the clever one who thought of it but it was Alyssa, my 7 year old. You can find her blog HERE.

In my thoughts

I'm back with my classic red and black combination. I love the contrast. I've paired it up with one of my favorite Fred She Said images: Monarch Butterfly. I'm also still digging through my paper scraps. I still have an endless supply of them. Of course I know I'll never run out of them especially since I seem to make more than I use. I still like to think that I'm making progress. Also Fred She Said is still having a digi sale each week. This week its the Wheelbarrow and its 30% off.

Fright Night

I really hope you are not getting tired of seeing Halloween cards because I just can't help myself *LOL* Halloween brings out my crafty side. I even dug out my brayer for this one.

In order to acheive the look of this card I created a scene using 3 Cutting Cafe images from the Halloween Time printable set. I first added the trees, then the spider and finally the All ghouls are welcome sentiment. The other sentiments are also included in the Halloween Time set. In fact there are 55 assorted images and sentiments in all.

I just realized that I've been having so much fun making Halloween cards that I have skipped fall. Fall cards can be so so rich and colorful. I wanted to share a card holder that I made recently using the Welcome Fall printable set from The Cutting Cafe. There is a combination of 46 images and sentiments in this set. I just love all that variety.

In the Newsprint

This week's challenge at Pixie Dust Studio is called: "In Between the Newsprint". We are asking you to use Black and White and ONE other color. I hope you are able to participate in this week's challenge. I certainly had a lot of fun with it.

Since I am still very into Halloween I decided to make a card using the Frankie's Bride image from the Fun House collection. My other color is red. I even added a little red heart to her hair. I admit I did use some Kraft in the background but couldn't resist using this velvet paper from My Mind's Eye.

Emma in the Leaves - Digi Sale

Tracey at Fred She Said had an idea. A good one too. Each week one of the DT members picks an image of the week and showcases it. How does that help you? Well that digi will be on sale that week (30% off). How's that for an incentive? Since the leaves will be changing colors and the air will soon become crisp I choose Emma in the leaves as my image. She came pre-colored which made my card come together quickly.

As you can see their is some flexibility in the image. I only used a small portion of it for my card. You can see the full colored version of the image below. She is also available as an inline image (un-colored) as well.

Fashionista

I've had this Karen Foster paper forever. I was drawn to the colors even though I rarely use the color purple. The image is from a Bratz coloring page. It's funny how I don't care for the actual Bratz dolls but I do love the images. You can find a link to this digi and many others on the Free Digital Stamps blog HERE. Princess Purse

I thought I'd share a cute little purse I made using Stampin Up's Top Note Die. The image is from Pixie Dust Studio and is called Cinderella. She is part of the Princess Parade collection and is just one of many of very cute images. You can't tell by the photo below but I cut down a treat bag (to 3 inches in height) and adhered it with Tacky Tape. I also made a purse handle with designer paper. It turned out really cute and was super simple to make. If I find the motivation I'll prepare step by step instructions.

Red, White and Blue

This week's Bella Digi Studio color combination has me thinking of the troops:

RED, WHITE and BLUE.

I used Little Furry - Westie from Bella Digi Studio as my main image and paired it up with a sentiments from the We Love Our Troops set from The Cutting Cafe. I just love this classic and bright color combination. I think I'll have to make some more military cards soon, especially with 9/11 coming up.

Magic Crayons

I hope I didn't give too much away with my sneek peek cards yesterday. This week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge theme is "Back to School". Rather than making a card I thought it would be fun to make a tin full of Magic Crayons. Who of course would have magic crayons? Dumbledore of course.
