i {heart papers}

Here's a fun card I did using the Into the Forest stamp set from i {heart} papers. I used one of my favorite 6 X 6 patterned paper pads called Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle from Sassafras Lass. I've also been getting good use out of my Large Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities set. This card was made for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge SC243. It feels good to finally make some challenge cards. Since I love ribbon so much I doubled up on it. The orange ribbon is called Orange Double Faced Faux Suede and the brown is Crochet Brown. Be sure to scroll down to see my next post. It was made for Squigglefly's shaped card challenge. As you know I love making shaped cards.

Accessories: Orange Button, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Brown Crochet Ribbon, Double Faced Faux Suede Ribbon, Copper Cord

Meow

This week's Squigglefly members on Kim's team were challenged to make a shaped card. It seems like I've been making lots of shaped cards so even though I wasn't required I decided at the very last minute join in. Since I had to make it quick (before the sun went completely down) I used my Star Shaped Card Template from The Cutting Cafe. The images are from Squigglefly and are called Meow and Kuruku Loo. I believe both stamps are less than $1 each and since they are digital you can re-size them to your needs. Can you hear me saying Go digi go?

I'm nuts about you

Here's another project made with the In the Forest stamp set from i {heart} papers. This time I used the cute little squirrel image from the set. That gorgeous paper is Sassafras Lass . It came in a fun little card size pack here along with that double sided pink ribbon. I was determined to make something a little different than the usual standard fold card shape. The card actually opens on the top only and when it is opened it looks like the squirrel is standing under a house. Too cute.

It's all about the dress

Here's a new Wedding Dress template from Regina at The Cutting Cafe. Its actually a dress invite set and it includes printed detail information such as date, time, place, etc. that fits inside the dress shape. Lots of other circle sentiments too. You can make the dress simple or elegant and can definitely have fun with it. Making it is easy, the hard part comes when its time to photograph it *LOL* I still can't capture its beauty. I added a row of gemstones along the bottom, which you can barely see. If you have any photo tips you would like to share I'm all ears!

Accessories: Gem stones - lots of them, Black polka dot ribbon (by the yard)

Twisted Thursday

I can't believe its Thursday already. Where has all my time gone this week? This week's Twist in addition to the sketch is to Paint the Town red -use red as your primary color. Unfortunately you'll have to wait a bit for mine to be posted. I have a 3 year old with a fever at home this week, in addition to lots of other not so fun things but I hope to whip up a card up in a Jiff later today if possible.

You have until September 2 at midnight to participate. You are not required to use S2G stamps but if you've got them why not use them? Post your card to your blog/online gallery and use keywords S2GSC23 and shirley2girls. Then go to the S2G Challenge Blog and post a direct link to your card using Mr. Linky. Deadline for submission is September 2, at midnight.

Need inspiration then head on over to the other DT members blogs and see what they came up with this week.

Boo!

I have to admit that Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. I love all things spooky and the idea of individually wrapped candies, well you can't go wrong there either. Regina recently shared a halloween set with the DT that she made awhile back. There are lots of new ones at the Cafe site as well. This little number is from the 13 piece Halloween set. It has shaped cards, titles, you name it. When I saw it I just had to use the little Boo sign with the pumpkins. I also paired it up with some Halloween digi paper (the black orange and white one on the bottom of the card) from Shirleys 2 Girls that will be released soon. Sneak peeks will be featured during Septembers Twisted Thursdays. I added little google eyes to it but they were a little camera shy so you can't see them very well.

'Hop to it'

This week's sponsor is Dustin Pike and he's giving away 3 of his digi's. The theme is 'Hop to it". I used one of Dustin's cute Easter Bunny images. This was one of his many freebie images that he posted on his blog back in March. I changed it up a bit and made mini apples instead of Easter eggs. If anyone knows where I can find a free carrot digi I'd love to know. In order to honor the start of the school year I also printed out one of Bethany's Elegant Word Art sentiments. Amazing stuff at her site too and lots of freebies to try.

Now back to the challenge stuff. All you need to do to participate is use one digital image and include something that hops. Then leave your name and link with Mr. linky on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog. If you don't have a blog and would like to play along, just upload your card to an online gallery using DTC21 for your keyword and add the link to your card in your gallery.

Number 1

This week Rhonda's team at Squigglefly was challenged to make a project using circles- the more the merrier. I chose my Squigglefly digi image called Number One and to add a few more circles combined it with the soccer ball image. Rather than layering the designer paper as always I decided to randomly place more circles behind the image. All in all there are 13 circles total. I hope that number doesn't jinx the game *LOL* Check out the Squigglefly blog to see what the other DT members have created. I know there a couple of circle shaped cards.

Bee my honey

Here's a card using my Hugs from a Bug set from i {heart} papers and Chickengirl designs. I used my Basic Grey pad called Urban Prairie which is still one of my favorite brand of papers. That and My Mind's Eye. Gotta love them. That cute little ribbon is also from i {heart} papers and can be found here. Ribbon is by far my favorite embellishment. Its so quick and easy and there are so many kinds out there to choose from too. I have such a hard time using circles so I thought I should use them more until I can figure out just how to create a balance with them. So I used one of my Nestabilities sets. This one is from the Classic Scalloped Circles set. I just bought the deckled Nestabilities set so I'll be using that one soon.

The perfect student

This week's theme for the digital Tuesday challenge is to make male cards. This week's sponsor is Regina from The Cutting Cafe and she is very generously offering 3 digi sets to the lucky winner. I wanted to create a card with Regina's company in mind so I combined a couple of her sets for this challenge. Here are the deets: Apple Shaped Card template, bus from the School Bus Driver printable set and the pencil and the perfect student sign are from the School Days printable set. As if that wasn't enough I also added Back to School Brett from KLM Designs. Now that's a lot of images.

To have a chance of winning you need to create a card for a male of any age using one or more digital image. You can combine your entry with other challenges but please ensure your entry is new. Just add your name and link to Mr Linky on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog. If you don't have a blog please post your entry to an online gallery using the keyword DT20.

I'm a sucker for you

Here's another card using the Hugs from a Bug set from designer Chickengirl Designs and i {heart} papers. I just couldn't resist that sentiment with the mosquito image. The first thing I thought of when I saw that sentiment was to make a sucker. So that's what I did. At the last minute I decided to turn it into a card by creating a simply background and added some layers. BTW that cute little heart paper is from Sassafraslas Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle set also from i {heart} papers.

Who loves ya baby!

This week Rhonda's group from the Squigglefly team was asked to make a card using fall colors. Being Ms. last minute as usual, I realized that I really didn't have any Squigglefly fall images so I improvised. The colors are there. Yellow, brown, green and rust. Of course after I finished the card I stumbled upon an image that could have worked. Oh well, that's just how it goes. Be sure to check out the Squigglefly blog to see what the other DT members came up with this week.

Hello Friend - Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek with the second stamp set from Chickengirl Designs. This cute little bear image is from the soon to be released set called In the Forest from i {heart} papers. I used the 'Offbeat' Basic Grey 6 X 6 pad. To give the card a different look I cut strips of dp and started weaving. The flower is a separate image in the set and is a single stamp. It's hard to see in the picture but the bear is actually popped up with dimensionals. Did you notice that I didn't use ribbon? Sometimes I amaze myself. Stay tuned for the full reveal of both sets on August 9th. Sometime after the reveal I'll give you a chance to win the set featured below.

It's Twisted Thursday!

Twisted Thursday is back! The sisters from Shirleys 2 Girls had a blast at CHA and are now back and ready for business. This week's TWIST is to add polka dots. Easy peasy, right? I used the daffodil digital image DG18 from S2G and paired it up with a sentiment from BFF Mazie SG 701. Yep I'm a digi gal. Here are some of the benefits of going digital: you can get them quick, no shipping and handling charges, they can be re-sized and printed out as a single image or multiple, they can be flipped, and the list goes on.

I had to come up with something quick since I was down to the wire with this challenge. I sure hope you like it. To enter is to create a card using this week's sketch and twist and add the link to Mr. Linky on the S2G Challenge Blog by next Wednesday at midnight. The winner will be announced on Friday. When uploading to Splitcoast use the keyword S2GSC20. Good Luck and I can't wait to see what you make.

Who says beetles can't be pink?

Here's my first sneak peek with one of the Chickengirl Designs stamps. This cute little beetle image is from the soon to be released set called Hugs from a Bug from i {heart} papers. I used the Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle pad by Sassafras Lass which just happens to be on sale. Can't beat that. I also used my heart shaped Nestabilities dies and pearl accents to make the card a little more endearing. Bugs can be cute, right? Of course I prefer the stamped kind. I'll be posting a sneak peek from the other set called Into the Forest later this week. All I'll say is Grrr....!! It's also the set that I'll be offering for free blog candy this month.
