I have to admit that I am a scrabooker at heart although I do find myself making more cards these days. I decided to mix things up a bit and to gradually get back into scrapbooking so I decided to re-start on a smaller scale with 8 X 8 pages. I prefer 12 X 12 pages. The great thing about making smaller pages is that they can be done quickly and you'll have a completed album in no time. Just think of it as a big card.

A Little Bamboo
Here's another card made with my Gratitude = Joy set from Unity Stamp Company. This card started a lot different than originally planned. I started out with a white piece of paper that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder. I thought the white was too white so I stamped my image on it, sponged and sponged some more to give it a more natural look. I thought the main image needed to match so I duplicated the sponging to reduce the brightness of the white. I finished the card by adding a little hemp and dimensionals.

Little Notebook
Here's a handy little project that is quick, easy and more important functional. It's a great notebook to doodle in or sketch on. This time I used one of the new singles from Unity Stamp Company. The singles are great for larger projects such as scrapbooking. I bought this notebook at Target a couple of months ago. It even has a pen and a stretchy bookmark. I thought they would make nice teacher gifts someday.

Tractor Pull
Have you ever been to the Little Paper Shop? If you haven't you may want to take a look at the stamps that they have to offer. Doesn't the tractor look realistic? What a great masculine stamp. There's a cute little farm animal set and a fun construction set on their site, just to name a few. Definitely worth checking out.
I couldn't find the right patterned paper -I'm new to masculine cards remember-so I dug deep into the pile of unused stamps (I know you have them too) and created my own paper. To make the paper look aged I did a lot of sponging, I even sponged the hemp twine so it would match. I searched high and low but couldn't find the right sentiment for the card so I left that out for now. I really need to look into getting some word stamps. I couldn't even muster up a Happy Father's Day stamp. Sad I know.

Fish Pond
I rarely make cards that are for the male gender. I suppose its because I have daughter's rather than sons. I decided to try my hand at another one (similiar to the Gone Fishing post). This was also my version of the SCS card sketch challenge (SC154). I would have liked the coloring of the image to be darker than it turned out and may experiment a bit more with it. Since I received the image from the Wish Rak group I only had this one image to work with.
Stamps: High Hopes, Magnolia, Embrace Life, Karen Foster snap-n-stamp
Paper: Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, K-ology DP
Ink: Versamark, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Dimensionals, Hemp Twine

Bloomin' Beautiful
This card was made with Stampin Up's Bloomin'Beautiful stamp set. I wanted the image to look like a packet of flower seeds so I added score lines in 1 inch increments before stamping the background image. I used chalk so the image would take on more of a worn look. I wanted to keep focus on the main image so I added a simple ribbon to complete the card.

Life is not a matter of...
This card's main image is from the set by Unity Stamps called Gratitude = Joy. I wanted to make a simple yet elegant card and I really like how this came together. I used the slot punch technique to make the scalloped border. I'd love to get my hands on the Nestabilities dies but since it will be awhile I'll have to come up with some creative ideas.

Warmest Wishes
I bet he's saying "Wish you Were Here". This is Hammock Riley from Hanna Stamps. Since I don't have a true vacation coming up any time soon I thought I'd live through Riley for a day: Riley on vacation. So far he has been spotted relaxing in a hammock, fishing and swimming. What a lucky guy! I ended up digging out my brayer and glossy paper for this one. Its amazing what you can do with a re-inker and/or Spectrum pad.

Gone Fishing
Another Riley the Moose card using Hanna Stamps. This card was made for the SC175 card sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers. See the sketch diagram below. I also wanted to make a masculine card for a change and thought that since I was still in my Riley mood, this image would be perfect. The card design is very different than what I am used to but it felt good to step out of my comfort zone. I wish I would have changed the dimension of the circle halves but since I only had a 6 X 6 scrap of patterned paper I didn't want to chance it.

A Happy Hello
Its hard not to like Riley the Moose from Hanna Stamps. He leads a high profile life to say the least. I've been holding onto that fabric strip for years now. I thought the card needed a little something so I started rummaging around and came across a pile of fabric strips that I bought at a craft sale way back. Its a little weathered and beach-like. It adds a little texture to the card.
