Cute Little Red Rubber Boots

When I saw this cute little Rain, Rain Go Away set from The Cutting Cafe I just had to use those cute little boots. Of course they had to be red. I wasn't sure about the color combination at first as I wouldn't normally use red and yellow together but it is growing on me. I added a little Bermuda Bay to off set the color combo. Since I've been playing around with Crystal Effects lately I think I'll add it to the puddle of water to finish off the card. Head on over to the Cafe to see what other images and sentiments come with the set. Reasonably priced as always.

Flowers for Maggie

Quick post for you today. I just wanted to let you know about this week's Humble Pie Challenge. This time think flowers...you need to use at least 5 of them. Head on over to the Humble Pie Challenge blog for all the deets and to see what the DT came up with this week. Hope you can join us. Remember you can purchase HP stamps at The Town Scrapper along with many other stamping supplies.

Be sure to check out Alyssa's challenge card. I let her use my Copics and she did a fabulous job. I have to tell you that letting a 6 year old use your markers can be very stressful for a mom *LOL* Of course now she wants to use them everyday....

3-D Pixie Challenge

Are you ready for another fun challenge? The gals at Pixie Dust Studio have a challenge for you. This time around we are asking that you make a 3-D project. It can be an altered tin, notebook or whatever you can think of. If you need some inspiration just head on over to the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog and take a gander. You'll find Mr. Linky there as well. I thought I'd share a sneak peek of the new Wild Flowers collection that will be released on Feb. 4th. I think it's my favorite one so far *LOL* For my 3-D project I decorated a cocoa tin Safari style and made a little card/bag topper for Safari Snack Mix. Can you imagine how cute a Safari birthday party would be? I am thinking about making Birthday tags next.

Stamps: Pixie Dust Studio -Wild Flowers Collection, The Greeting Farm - Ever Glen digital kit (word SAFARI)
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, White, Sassafras Lass - Jungle Bungle: i {heart} papers

What's one more friggin' candle?

Here's a fun card with the free digital image I downloaded from Bugaboo Stamps. The image is from the Stella collection and is called One More Candle. Lots of cute Stella images to choose from as well as a great variety of other images. It's a good thing I'm on a spending freeze because I think I'd go a little crazy with all the fun images. OK it's really not a good thing because I just have to have some of those images *LOL* Luckily Jodie offers an image for Freebie Friday's. I do have that to look forward too.

I even decorated the inside of the card. I added a Happy Birthday Sentiment as well. Too bad you can't see all the Crystal Effects.

Time for another challenge. The theme this week is to make a humorous boy card. Dustin Pike is the sponsor this week. In fact that's where this cute little elephant came from. All you have to do to enter is to make a new card keeping the theme in mind. Don't forget to use at least one digital image. Head on over to the DTC blog for all the deets and Mr. Linky. Good Luck!

Fred She Said Challenge

This week's Fred She Said Challenge was a tough one for me. The challenge is to get inspiration from the colors and patterns of the FSS Challenge Blog which means purple, yellow, green and stripes. Colors I don't use very often. I had to dig in the scrap bin to find SU designer paper scraps. That and I had less than 30 minutes from start to finish to make the card. The kids were sick all week, one at a time of course, so I'm running a bit behind...more than usual *LOL* I used the Empty Pockets Shrugger set and thought it would be fun to combine the boy and the girl digi's on the same card. What can you win by joining in on all the fun? How about $20 CAD money for the FSS store.

Paper: Lavendar Lace, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, White, SU DP
Accessories: Copics, Dimensionals, Pearl Pin, Butterfly Charm, SU Polka Dot Ribbon

Try Not to Hug a Snowman too Tight...

I'm finally participating in Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge. This week's challenge is No Coloring! You can use different colored ink pads, but no coloring "in". That means no markers, colored pencils, chalks, etc. I ended up using a pre-colored image: Emma the Hugger from Fred She Said. I thought I was pretty clever with this one. If you'd rather color the image in yourself rather than a pre-colored one....no need to worry...you can purchase one or both. The pre-colored version is great for a card or too but even better when you are making several cards. BTW the inside of the card say's "He could melt." I just love when sentiments are included with images.

Stamps: Fred She Said -Emma the Hugger
Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, White, Basic Grey -Eskimo Kisses DP

Humble Pie Challenge

It's a Humble Pie Challenge and this week its a color challenge with a twist. All you need to do is think love/valentine and use the colors red, pink, white and add some hearts. I just love that color combination so honestly it wasn't much of a challenge. Especially when you have a cute lovie dovie image like Maggie in Love to work with. It came together rather quickly too. Be sure to go to the Humble Pie Challenge blog to see what the DT members came up with and to enter the challenge. I also wanted to mention that Humble Pie Stamps, among others, are available at Phebe's store The Town Scrapper. I heard someone mention a sale too.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge

I know I'm super late on posting my Pixie Dust Studio Challenge card. I didn't have internet access until now. Thankfully its up and running. It did make me realize just how dependent on the internet and blogging I have become. I'm sure most of you can relate. Anyway, this week's challenge was to add glitter and sparkle. Bring on the bling. Just head on over to the Challenge Blog and upload your fabulous creation on Mr. Linky so we can all see it. The winner will have their choice of a Pixie Dust Studio image from the latest Sweet Tooth Collection. Good luck and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

There's still a little time to finish the Fred She Said Blog Hop. Just click here for the deets and good luck.

Valentine's Day Cards

I thought I'd share a handful of quick and easy Valentine's Day cards I made. The idea was to make Valentine's Day kits by pre-cutting out card bases and making handmade embellishments. I ordered several clear top rectangle tins to put them in. Since I don't have the tins yet I thought I'd wait and make some cards to get ideas. I just couldn't wait to use my new printable stamp Set from The Cutting Cafe. This one is called Valentine's Day Red and Black set. Its great for backgrounds and is just the right size to use with all your shaped punches. I plan on using it to make my own embellishments at only a fraction of the cost. Each of the four designs come in black and red. How cool is that?
